Innovation League

The Innovation League is a weekly club designed specifically for primary students aged 7 to 9, where students embark on an exciting journey exploring Lego robotics, coding, and captivating science experiments. We foster their curiosity and creativity, encouraging them to explore, solve problems, and think outside the box. Through interactive activities, children not only learn essential STEM concepts but also develop valuable life skills and grow in confidence.

The Innovation League Club takes place at the Familienclub Robinson (Schulhausstrasse 41, 8704 Herrliberg). Please read below for the day and time for each session:

On Tuesdays: from September to December

from 17:00 to 17:45 – Lego Robotics Session

On Tuesdays: from January to April

from 17:00 to 17:45 – Coding Session

On Tuesdays: from April to July 

from 17:00 to 17:45 – Science Experiments Session

 

Registration and Fees:

The weekly club is offered in packages of 10 or more lessons following the school calendar of the city of Zurich. The cost is 35 CHF/ per lesson (plus credit card processing fees). The total amount for each quarter depends on the actual number of lessons influenced by the public holidays. A more detailed calendar with the dates will be available at the moment of booking. You have the flexibility to choose between registering your child for a Lego session, a science experiments session, or both. However, please note that registration is for an entire quarter session, meaning you need to select the same day of the week for the entire session. It is not possible to book single days.

Robot Builders Academy: Exploring Engineering and Coding with LEGO Robotics!

Starting Date: 12.09.2023

Ending Date: 21.12.2023

Theme:

This module will immerse students in the exciting world of Lego robotics, through the Lego We.do  and Lego Spike Prime Education sets. The young engineers will learn how to construct their own robots using LEGO bricks, motors, and sensors. They will discover the basics of coding by programming their robots to perform various tasks and challenges. Through this immersive experience, children will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills as they design, build, and code their creations.

CodeCraft: From Novice to Pro

This exciting weekly club welcomes all skill levels and aims to provide an immersive and creative coding experience for young learners.We will start with block-based programming languages and coding robots, allowing participants to grasp the fundamental concepts in a fun and interactive way. As the club progresses, we will gradually introduce more challenging challenges and tasks, encouraging students to push their boundaries and enhance their coding skills. Our club embraces a diverse community where every participant can feel at home, regardless of their prior coding experience. Whether your child is taking their first steps or already possesses advanced coding skills, they will find a supportive and inclusive environment that caters to their individual learning needs.

Join our Innovation League Club for children aged 7 to 9, where a world of fun and science awaits from January to March! Throughout this engaging journey, students will delve into four fascinating topics, expanding their knowledge through immersive science activities.

  • 3…2…1…Be the Fastest on Track: Discover the secrets behind high-speed machines, aerodynamics, and cutting-edge technologies that make these racing cars zoom past the competition. Through hands-on projects, engineering challenges, and simulations, young speed enthusiasts will learn about vehicle design, performance optimization, and the science behind racing.
  • CSI: the Case of the Bear Foot: Get ready to step into the shoes of forensic investigators and dive into a thrilling mystery. In this club, young detectives will sharpen their analytical skills as they examine evidence, analyze clues, and solve the enigmatic case of the bear foot.
  • Cosmic Kids Club: the young explorers embark on a celestial journey as they gaze at the stars, planets, and galaxies, unlocking the mysteries of the universe. Through captivating activities and interactive experiments, they’ll delve into the realms of space exploration, planetary science, and the awe-inspiring wonders of the cosmos. From building model rockets to observing celestial bodies, our club fosters a deep appreciation for the vastness and beauty of the universe.
