Workshops at Google for Girls: women in STEM

40 Girls, aged 8 to 14,  will be introduced to 4 female pioneers of science and their inventions, discoveries or research activities.

The workshop will be set up in 4 “zones”, each one dedicated to a different pioneer with pictures/posters of the scientists and her inventions or discoveries.  At each “zone”, the girls will be introduced to the scientist and their most famous works before then taking part in STEM activities based around this field of science.

Marina Bosi: What the kids will do: design, build and program a musical instrument with Makey Makey kit and recycled materials .

Frances Glessner Lee: Forensic Science. What the kids will do: Solve a whodunnit challenge using forensic science methods (fingerprints, ink chromatography, mystery powder analysis) .
